Bit of a Bio –

Having a female body has been the most joyous experience of my life. The greatest confusion of my life has been the way that the culture has developed to perceive it. Wanting to be part of the solution and not the cause of human suffering I looked deeply at why there is such a disparity between the fact that we all came out of a woman’s body and then grow up in a world where rape, violence, belittling and shaming of women is so deeply imbedded.

I am an actor. I wrote a series of monologues many years ago that eventually became a film called ‘cruelbutnecessary’. I then wrote a graphic enovel ‘Notes from the Undercarriage’ that can be seen at fernpoppy.com This blog is an extension of that work to explore and encourage with humour and common sense the creativity and inventiveness of the female nature. Knowing that the addition of the missing female wisdom and power in our world will bring a nurturing intelligence and kindness that is right here among us waiting to be realized.

Somewhere between Adam’s rib, the theory of evolution and the Big Bang Theory is our true creation story that we can all agree upon – we all came from the body of a woman. This is where I start from.

* Green used to be just a colour and now it’s an environmental  movement. Changing language is key – ‘vagina’ is only a roadway, ‘undercarriage’ is the place from where we all came, a woman’s body – carried under the heart of a woman.

** the word ‘undercarriage’ has been used by the blog ‘Jezebel’ and was said in the tv show ‘The Mindy Project’. Nice.
